Partnerships: Jungo and TI Release the First DOCSIS® 3.0 Gateway Middleware for Cable Operators
Jungo and Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) (NYSE: TXN) released the first DOCSIS® 3.0 gateway middleware for cable operators and cable equipment vendors. The platform integrates Jungo's OpenRG residential gateway middleware with the TI Puma 5 family of DOCSIS® 3.0-based (Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification) cable modem chipsets.
Cable equipment vendors deploying the new platform can now introduce cutting-edge residential and business gateways in the shortest time possible, to fully utilize their access network capacity and deliver profitable and attractive media-rich services.
Ran Senderovitz, TI's cable business manager said: "By leveraging TI's Puma 5 family of proven DOCSIS 3.0® products with packet process engine technology, we enabled Jungo to add its unique residential gateway middleware platform on top of Puma 5 to create a high-performance solution to offer our customers and other multi service operators. TI's Puma 5 chipset is designed to empower our customers and partners with the ability to develop differentiated software and hardware to meet the varied market demand for voice, video and data services."

Customer Wins: A "top 3" European Tier One Operator Revitalizes its Legacy Home Gateways
Using Jungo's OpenRG middleware to remotely upgrade its entire existing installed CPE base (over 3 million ADSL wireless gateways), one of Europe's largest tier-1 service providers launched a new set of profitable and appealing VoIP and IPTV services. This required adding QoS functionality and previously unsupported H.323 and SIP protocols.

The upgrade process had to be simple and transparent from the end user perspective. The requirement was for absolutely no user intervention, so the remote firmware upgrade process had to maintain the existing gateway configuration

(e.g., PPPoE and wireless settings, username & password) and to support existing functionality including look & feel.

Jungo's OpenRG accompanied the entire upgrade process from initial definitions to delivery. The upgraded software enabled the introduction of additional services like photo sharing, PBX, and advanced security features. For more information, see the attached Case Study

Business Achievements: Jungo Passes 12 Million 'Powered by OpenRG' Gateway Deployments
Jungo is proud to announce that as of Q2 of 2008, it has passed 12 million "powered by OpenRG" residential gateway middleware deployments. Over the years, Jungo has continued to refine and enhance the capabilities and performance of its OpenRG residential gateway middleware and OpenSMB, business gateway middleware platform, firmly establishing the company's reputation as a leading provider of gateway middleware solutions.
Jungo's customers comprise most of the world's major DSL and cable service providers. By focusing exclusively on the needs of service providers, Jungo capitalizes on the rapidly growing number of DSL connections worldwide, and the increasing importance of service provider-deployed home networking solutions.
To quote Eran Rom, Jungo's CEO: "Software used to be an invisible, 'free' component of CPE hardware. But broadband triple-play services are now driving the 'software takeover' phenomenon (well-known in many other branches of computing, gaming, communications, etc.), into the digital home. Jungo, with its server-side management and de-facto standard CPE middleware solutions, is ideally placed to take full advantage of this trend."
