Wireless USB Abstract
Based on Ultra Wide Band (UWB) technology which is capable of transferring 480 Mbit/s and designed to
operate in the 3.1 to 10.6 GHz frequency range, Wireless USB (WUSB) offers unparalleled data transfer
rates. Wireless USB enables media devices such as PCs, laptops, digital cameras, mobile handsets and
other devices to seamlessly transfer data at high speeds using wireless technology.
Wireless USB is at the vanguard of the USB revolution, and poised to become the standard for intra-device
digital media transfers. Recent market projection research by In-Stat has determined Wireless USB usage
will skyrocket in the next couple of years. See diagram below:
Bluetooth Abstract
Bluetooth is a wireless communication protocol which utilizes short-range wireless technology to facilitate data transmission over
short distances from fixed and/or mobile devices. The Bluetooth standard has been primarily designed for low power consumption,
with a short range in mind and based on low-cost transceiver microchips in each device. Each device uses a radio communications
system, so a line of sight is not required, as long as the received transmission is powerful enough communication between the
devices can take place.
